Clem Ohameze was contesting for election to represent Ohaji-Egbema-Oguta Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2007. He won the primaries and his campaign posters littered the streets of Imo State but he abandoned his political ambition over thr.eat to life and after his car was atta.cked and his cousin was sh.ot dead during the incident. His driver escaped with a bul.let. They thought he was inside the car when they fired. He escaped from Owerri through Enugu to Abuja and later relocated to the UK and from there to America.
