As a 6’8 black male physician, my residency experience will not be the same as others. Every day is mental warfare for someone that has to fight the feelings of inadequacy and try to overcome the preconceived thoughts people may see about them based off their appearance. It takes a very strong individual to go through this on a daily basis. We must continue to spread awareness on workplace equality and educating each other on cultural differences among various people in the workplace.
