Raymond Okafor started his career as a basketball player due to his height advantage.

He played in his school basketball team “Oko heat” (Federal polytechnic Oko, Anambra state) in several tournaments and regular competitions.

He fell so deeply in love with basketball that he decided to take it to the highest level which is the NBA. So he started attending basketball camps such as the A2S (Access 2 Success) basketball camp by Andrew Lovedale and other individual competitions. He became exposed to so many things in the game and he met a lot of coaches who really helped in building him.

He met this particular coach (Coach Charlie) who really had a great interest in him and got him an i20 scholarship to study and play for Capitol Christian Academy Maryland USA. After paying all the fees involved, he was denied the visa at the US embassy and that was where the whole heartbreak started. He had a total of 5 i20’s (USA scholarships) and was denied twice at the embassy, but couldn’t afford to pay the fees for the rest. Then he decided to quit basketball.

Then he discovered so many other talents he got such as acting, singing hymns and classical music in the church choir and lots more. He then chose movies. Right now, he only plays basketball as means of exercise.
