Jerry Mallo is a Nigerian born fabrication engineer and chief executive officer (CEO) of Bennie Technologies LTD, who manufactured Nigeria’s first ‘carbon fibre’ sports car called ‘Bennie Purrie’.
In 2018, the then brilliant 23-year-old London university dropout, Jerry Mallo built tractors and grinding machines. The young man also tried to curb unemployment so he decided to employ 26 people.

In 2019, I stumbled upon a very young man, very audacious, brilliant and highly innovative; a genius in his own right.
This young man who then was only 25-years-old, had found a way even in the face of all our challenges to build Nigeria’s first Carbon Fibre Car, in a nation where deliberations were still being made for the manufacture of pencils and toothpicks by 2020... Lols 😂
Prior to manufacturing his car called Bennie Purrie, the young lad had been using his technological skills to create tools and machines that aid farmers to be more productive, so ingenious.
Having worked on this piece and followed Jerry Mallo for a bit, it gives me great pleasure to know that today, this fine young man has again been recognized for his great deeds, his feats are deserving of accolades and I am so glad he has now been crowned winner of the Future Awards Africa Prize for Entrepreneurship.
This is one of those who I will be writing about in my new collection titled - Burying the Ghosts of Dead Narratives; outstanding Nigerians who the world must know and see as models of what this nation has to offer.
