In another interview with Daily Trust, Fatima Teema Yola while reacting on if she is fulfilled as an actress, said,
"Sort of, but my main dream now is to get married and settle down. However, I will not leave the industry even when I get married. I will still be with the industry but not as an actress. I want to be a producer because the art of making films is a profession just like any other.
However, all these depend on my husband’s wish; if he says he wants me to be a fulltime house wife, so be it."
How Fatima Isah Muhamad Joined Kannywood And Started Acting: Teema Yola had always wanted to be an actress until the opportunity came when she met notable screenwriter, Abdulkareem Paparaje, who introduced her to a couple of producers and directors, who invited her for auditions. She started going for auditions and the roles started coming gradually.
Speaking about her role as ‘Hajiya Laure' in Mansoor, Ali Nuhu, Teema Yola revealed to Guardian how the role made her famous and is thankful to Star actor, Ali Nuhu:
"I would like to thank Nuhu especially for believing in me and for considering me suitable to play the role of ‘Hajiya Laure.’ He guided me to bring out the best in me and I am most grateful.
“To be honest, I feel great playing the role and I am grateful to Allah because the movie created a good name for me and showcased my ability to act. Even though I have been around for a while, people were asking about who this actress is immediately after the premiere of the movie. I even had to sneak out of the venue, because fans swarmed on me. They wanted to see more of the antics of the character I played.
“I recalled how I shed tears of joy at the sight of people waiting to see me and to talk to me. It was a good feeling that I will not forget in a hurry,” she recalled.
7 Years To Achieve Stardom: On how it took her seven years to come to limelight, Fatima Teema Yola said:
"Well, God’s time is the best I suffered seriously before I reached where I am today. I featured in many films but some producers after working for them, they will refuse to pay me. Some will pay half of the agreed fee.
There is one producer that I will never forget because during shooting I was even bitten by a scorpion but the guy ended up not paying me even a kobo. This still pains me a lot.
You see when Mansoor was premiered at Film House Ado Bayero Mall, recently, I shed tears of happiness because I was almost mobbed by fans.
Many people insisted to collect my number or take photographs with me. This is something that has never happened to me throughout my seven years in industry."
On Being Arrogant: Teema Yola denied it and said: "I am not arrogant but I don’t tolerate rubbish. If you respect me, I will respect you, if you mess me up, I will mess you up. If you did not respect yourself, I won’t respect you.
I thank God that he created me as a Muslim, and gave me all the qualities that a lady will want to have as a woman. Even by nature, a woman is not supposed to be cheap, if you come to me and say you like me, even if I like you, of course as a lady, I must do shakara or yanga before I accept you.
But along the line, if you are not patient enough to capture my heart, then you are as good as a missed call."
On Her Struggle in the Hausa Movie Industry - Teema Yola told Daily Trust
"Yes, I have faced a lot of challenges to get to this level in the industry. You see, there were moments when I will be cast in a movie and after doing all the roles assigned to me, I will not get paid at the end. I will try all I can but the producers wouldn’t pay me.
On several occasions, people would advise me to take legal action but I will just laugh and forge ahead. I later realized that I was treated that way because I was an upcoming actress, but today the same producers that refused to pay me are paying me in advance even before the script is submitted to me. I was patient enough to witness these two different transitions in my history as a Kannywood actress."
